What is Couples Therapy

There are many reasons couples seek counseling.  Often times, they have waited far too long to seek help, however, there is no better time to start than now. Couples counseling can help couples gain a deeper understanding of one another’s beliefs and values as well as needs and desires. In couples therapy, the focus is to provide a setting in which both partners can feel safe to explore their feelings and work collaboratively with the therapist to address specific concerns and goals.

I provide a safe and accepting environment for discussing and processing your relationship concerns regardless of sexual, gender, cultural or spiritual orientation. Many couples struggle with communication and communication patterns which makes it difficult to listen to and accept a partner’s needs. As the therapist, I will facilitate constructive communication and help couples establish healthy patterns that allow for empathetic listening and positive communication.

I am a Level 1, 2 and 3 Gottman Trained Therapist.  I have trained with Drs. John and Julie Gottman who are well known throughout the world for their research and work with couples for over four decades
